New Years Kiss

Happy New Years everyone! I'm excited to see what 2016 has in store. Welcome year of the Monkey!

To celebrate the winter season, I threw together this picture of Rover and a certain White Cat having a cute New Years moment. :)

Also, I just love moon-lit scenes and I just can't help myself.

May you all have a fun holiday, and please be safe!

Sneak Peak--REVEALED!!!

The Courageous Windmill

Well, I said I would update you all when the picture was finally finished-- Ta da!
This D&D campaign has finally ended! I do love to role play, but lately with life happening, I've had to put it on the side burner -sad-

Anyway, one of the biggest things I've attempted (outside of maybe college projects?) 9 characters in one picture! phew. Hope everyone in the group likes it :)

ps, can you guess which character is mine? Or my husbands? (no, they are not interacting here in this picture)

Sail my Ship

I'm sending this as a Christmas gift to my family and friends this year (because being an artist means you are poor and can't buy christmas gifts)
but that's ok, because someday this will be worth millions!!! Maybe. who knows

The theme of my life this year can be summed up in this picture and quote. It's been rough, but educational. and I like to think that I've become better because of it! and I'm just going to keep getting better! Because as long as I'm in this boat, I'm going to keep sailing and getting through it.

I hope you guys enjoy it too!
I hope you have a wonderful holiday. I'll see you after Christmas! :D

Just in Case You'd Like to Know what I've Been Working on For the Past 3 Months....

Solar Beam

Hydro Pump

Flamethrower

Petal Blizzard

Eruption

Aqua Tail

Leaf Blade

Muddy Water

Blaze Kick

Earthquake

Steel wing

Flare Blitz

Leaf Tornado

Heat Crash

Shell Blade

Spiky Shield

Water Shuriken

Mystical Fire

Well, hello there visitor.

These pictures have taken 59.5 hours to finish in total. @____@ my goodness! Now, on average, that means I only spent about 2-3 hours each, but still!

No wonder I was inactive for a few months!

Anyway, a part of the commission was to make the picture super "epic" and dynamic, showing off their signature move. Now, this was easy for the most part. They practically named Blaze Kick after Blaziken. But some... where more difficult. For instance; Empoleon. I've always been disappointed by the obvious LACK of steel type moves for that guy. especially because there's one that seems so obvious to me!

And don't even get me started on Samurott... *shudder*

I also need to say Thank you to ResistanceGirl11 silver-dragonetsu and Kosumosu for helping me when I was in a pinch, and suggesting colors for a picture I was stuck on! You guys are awesome!

All in all though, I have learned TONS with this series. forcing myself to stick to a limited pallet (in fact, forcing myself to color these at all) and adding a background to most of the pictures has stretched me so much. I feel like I've really "leveled up" as an artist after this. I'm very confident in my ability to choose colors and paint decent pictures. I'm no where NEAR where I want to be *coughAva's DemoncoughGlitchedPuppetcough* but I'm glad to have done this to push myself.

That being said, I HIGHLY SUGGEST TO ALL ARTISTS trying to improve themselves to just get over your fear and JUMP INTO COLOR THEORY. whether its watercolor, acrylic, oil, or digital, just pick a medium, pick a comfortable subject to draw, then color it! Again! and Again! AND AGAIN!

and YOU TOO WILL FEEL VICTORIOUS!

Tapastic + big Project!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, I know I did! It's been great being with family... but I'm pretty excited to be home and drawing again.

I've been working super hard on this commission that was given to me a few weeks ago. It's probably one of the biggest things I've ever worked on, with more characters in one picture than I've ever attempted before!

And it's finally DONE...!!

*flops*

I am waiting to hear from the client if it looks good before I start posting the online versions, but here is a sneak peak of just the corner of the picture.

Also, I found and joined a website that I'm pretty excited about called Tapastic! SUCH A COOL WEBSITE I’m a little star struck. But hopefully posting my work there will be successful and someday someone there will love me for who I am -u-

So check it out if you'd like read my comics! I plan on updating at least once a week there with the Good MoeJo series :)

Because the customer is always right.

My respect to all of you who serve retail/fast food. Staying open late for that last customer can be a pain...

Got this story from my husband when he used to work at a certain sandwhich store (CAN YOU GUESS WHICH ONE HMMMM). The lady seriously just stared at her in silence... I don't really know what I would do if this happened to me! haha

(manga studio is so NIIIIIICE...)

FINALLY UPLOADING THIS!

I have quite a few comics that I've been trying to finish, this being one of the first.

My husband and I were hanging out with our friends, Xakriuth and Jerum-TheDemonKing And funny things happen when we all hang out

This made us laugh for a really long time... though it may only be funny to us four xD

There is a Burger King that is 4 cents richer because of him!

(Also, I'm trying out screen tones to replace my B/W comics... thanks to a lot of forums and videos I think I've found a good system for shading this way. Though, I know I could be doing better...
'tis the artist curse)

A Personal Project I've been working on...

KikiBo! That's how you "ship" things, right...?

A personal picture I've been meaning to finish! I'm very happy to see it done. -w-

Kiki's Delivery Service was my first exposure to Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli Films, so it's always been a favorite. They never show these two becoming an official item, but I like to think after her year of Witch-Training, they grew close enough to finally start dating >w<

Also, smooshing anime characters names together is a thing right? Shipping? Is KikiBo too dumb...? Maybe I should have gone with TomKi...

Attempting a new painting style! and I think I am victorious!

In other news, I am sick with a fever/cold -____- blech...

But the miracle of taking a shower rejuvenated me and I got some work done today. I can only hope that my day will be a bit more productive tomorrow. I'll be drinking Emergen-C through one of those beer hats all day tomorrow, in case you need to find me and can't recognize me through the cluttered mess that is my workspace.

All of Drawlloween 2015

All of my #Drawlloween2015 pictures for your viewing pleasure! This was especially fun to do with my sister. I thought it was super interesting that she and I had similar outcomes on certain days, and then drastically different on other days.

Also, because I finished this challenge, I've been thinking about possibly afflicting myself with more burden and joining NaNoWriMo. Only... it'd be a little different... >_>

I'll show you at the end of November if I end up doing it.

In other news, THANK YOU all of those who commissioned me to help me get to California (and back!) It was a hit, and I learned so much. (I wish I was a better blogger sometimes, so that I could write and journal all of the fun stuff that I learn at these conventions and seminars...) It has been so good to draw for you, and I'm so grateful for the work.

That being said, I'm going to close my sale now. Awwwww Though, I've been thinking about my commission info, and I'm changing things up a little bit. Check out my For Hire page if you want to see what I've changed. Hopefully this keeps my workload where I like it, and helps clear up some payment confusion for you!

ONWARD AND UPWARD, MEN! TO NOVEMBER!

MOAR DRAWLLOWEEN

Demon -- not the one you'd usually think about. I based this off of my friends original character concept of demons, like from feudal japan.

Mask -- My favorite one!

Creature from the Black Lagoon

Skull (Kid!)

An odd challenge, but here you go! 8-bit zombie

Hey everyone, still doing the #Drawlloween. It's just taking me forever to post them!

I'm headed off to California today, we were able to raise enough money to get out there! Not enough to make it back but I'm bringing my computer with me and with all of you great people who commissioned me, I'll finish your pictures before the end of the week and then we'll get home :)

it's tight but it's worth it!

#DRAWLLOWEEN

Raven

Moon. (I love the moon)

A peeved shoulder devil!

Ghost (They'll never notice)

Frankenstein's Cat

Amulet (a good graphic novel! Highly influencing my picture)

Zombie. I can't help but make them cute somehow

Haunted house. There's always that one trick-or-treater in the group!

Pumpkin! My mother had wooden decorations growing up, and I often imagined them as a family together.

Werewolf. Because EVERYONE NEEDS THE FEELS. -sob-

Goblin. (haha)

Bat + Vampire. Cheating? naaaaaaw....

Hello everyone!
Sorry for the lack of posting lately -- I've been dealing with the move and jobs and going to California next week and my birthday and blaaaaaaaaah

In the mean time though, I found a great little challenge called #Drawlloween! For everyday of October your given a prompt to draw something. I didn't find the challenge until the 10th, but I've been playing catch up, and having a lot of fun.

Halloween is my favorite holiday, due to the fun-loving nature of dressing up, costuming, and gorging selves on unhealthy junk while watching movies and/or playing games.

Though it's that last part that really makes it for me.

Anyway, speaking of California, there's an amazing Leadership Convention going on next weekend! My husband and I have tickets to go, but due to the craziness of this month, no money to get us there. We'd love to still make it, and need about $500 to cover gas, hotel and food. (maybe food)

I'm sending this out as a plea to all of my followers and fellow people who love me: please consider commissioning me! I'm having a sale that is explained in my "For Hire" tab. Check it out, and get yourself a limited time discounted picture :)

thank you everyone!

Lorilai

Hey guys! I just wanted to post something real quick to show you all I'm not dead. I got some time to sketch again (with my tablet having been separated from me for about a week) and it felts super good!

This is Lorilai, a tonfa-wielding martial artist who fights all things supernatural! A character I made for an Anima Campaign my friends have started. We're looking to move in with them, so we'll be doing this campaign quite a bit.

The hunt for the apartment has been less successful than we would have liked... not everyone wants multiple families living in their 3 bedroom homes I guess. blahhhh

BUT THAT CHANGES TODAY I WILL FIND VICTORY

*runs off to make phone calls*

Augusts' Hourly Comic Day + News!

For those of you out there who enjoy reading these-- I updated the COMICS tab so you can read all of my hourlies (all the way bucket Jan 2014!)

Ronda Rousey is probably my hero! She's awesome! First fight I ever watch was hers, and it was awesome :) I might be a fan of UFC/MMA now.

Anyway, the other news is that I'M MOVING. Goodbye sweet Basin home :'( You have treated my husband and I well these past 7 months. But bumming off your best friend isn't the funner thing to do, so it's time to move out and try to adult once more.

My wonderful husband decided to take the chance, and check out a job offer in a town almost 3 hours away from here. And to our surprise, they hired him on the spot! So he has been working in another town this whole week while I pack everything up and get things ready to go. And you'll be happy to hear that i was able to do it in just 3 days. HOO HAH! (Granted, we have moved so often that there's hardly anything to pack outside of clothes and books.)

Now I'm leaving for the weekend (and possibly the week) to scout out this new area and try to land us an apartment. I will try and draw and post while I'm gone! Shouldn't be too hard, as my work space can travel with me (yay laptop and portable tablets!)

I've also been having a fun time chatting with JakeNova about his latest project, The Legend of Laurel! So we've been chatting about all things Zelda and figuring out his plot-line to make it all work.
And I'm just happy to have a Zelda nerd to talk to. B-)

I'll keep you all posted until then.

This is How It Ends

Lord forgive me of the things I've done
I was never meant to hurt no one
but I saw scars...

This is How it Ends
I feel the chemicals burning
in my
bloodstream
(Ed Sherran, Bloodstream)

Art inspired by music has always been a favorite thing for me to do. This picture will probably not make a lot of sense except to me and my friend DakotaLe, who owns this character.

but I hope you enjoy it all the same!

Also, thank you to Miss-Hobbit for some inspiration on designing the format for this picture. I've been studying my LoZ: Majora's Mask Puppet print, and decided to try making the border. turned out pretty good I think.

In other news, I am leaving with my husband for a few days this week to visit friends and "un-slump" ourselves. We've been in our personal Holland for a while, and it's time to get away to enjoy the windmills...(for those of you who do not understand that reference, please read this!)

So until then, there will be very little updated from me! I'll see you all when I return!

Lionheart

And when the world comes to an end
I'll be there to hold your hand
Cuz your My King
and I'm Your Lionheart...

(Of Monsters and MenLionheart)

That song has always been cute to me, just because of that line. And, maybe that's dumb, but I still love it. I want it to be on wedding playlists.

Also, I had to draw this picture of my best friend and her boyfriend because THEY'RE JUST TOO CUTE TO IGNORE, DANGIT
;^;
